Sky observer is an experimental rocket, propelled by 4 C6-sized hexaphenox rocket motors, HD video camera, serial data telemetry, beacon.
The first flight took place on 2011-8-17. All systems worked perfect. Temperature, air pressure and UV radiation were transmitted wireless on 410MHz band. The power supply for the 500mW transmitter and micro controller is a 3.7V cell phone battery with 1000mAh. The HD camera has a resolution of 1280x720, weighs only 30g and is waterproof.
The recovery of the rocket took us actually two hours. We found it 1.5km away from the launch site on a tree top. Fortunately there was a lot of bamboo around.
